fukuyama bara matsuri
|
|
a yearly event, fukuyama bara matsuri is on event calender of hiroshima. this year it was held on weekend 15-16th may, which unfortunately was not be a sunny weekend. as we have nothing to do that weekend, we joined aishah, wan, shukri & his wife shai to the matsuri. it was our first time to fukuyama, and true to its name as the city of rose, the city is full of roses of various colors. kiranya sepanjang jalan, kat tepi-tepi jalan dipenuhi dengan roses. for me fukuyama is a quite big city (but we didn't cover the city) and the bara matsuri was held in the centre of the city. 5,000 species of roses of various shapes and colors covering the garden...we tried to smell all but just couldn't do it, but we found that the as the color deepen, the smell lost its sweetness. and we noticed that white roses smell the best.
susah nak tengok kecantikan bara ni....unlike tulips yang sejauh mata memandang, roses bukanlah bunga yang cantiknya sejauh mata memandang, roses need a closer look. nak ambik gambar kena duduk dekat-dekat dengan bunga, kalau tidak nampak daun hijau je... rimbunan bunga ros tak dapat menutup rimbun daunnya yang lebat....nak posing pun susah.
last week was a busy week, only able to upload the photos today.

golden week
|
|
we had looong weekend ie the golden week...and we didn't go more than 30km radius from saijo...not so enriching way to spend a long weekend.
The end of April through around May 5th is called "Golden Week" in Japan, a collection of four national holidays within seven days. In combination with well placed weekends, the Golden Week becomes one of Japan's three busiest holiday seasons, besides New Year and the Obon week.
The national holidays making up the Golden Week are:
柊pril 29 Green Day (Midori no hi):
April 29 used to be the birthday of Emperor Showa who died in the year 1989. After his death, the day was changed into a national holiday for environment and nature since the emperor loved nature.
筆ay 3 Constitution Day (Kenpo kinenbi):
On this day in 1947, the new post war constitution was put into effect.
筆ay 4 "Between Day" (Kokumin no kyujitsu):
According to Japanese law, if two national holidays are separated by just one day, the day in between is also turned into a national holiday (unless the "between day" is a Sunday, in which case it will be just a regular Sunday).
筆ay 5 Children's Day (Kodomo no hi):
The Boy's Festival (Tango no Sekku) is celebrated on this day. Families pray for the health and future success of their sons by hanging up carp streamers and displaying samurai dolls, both symbolizing strength, power and success in life. The Girl's Festival, by the way, is celebrated on March 3.

my sensei, popular in idec as the most baik sensei, organised a bowling game to welcome new students...and i am his only new student which made it almost a must for me. the game was for kinbara's students, komatsu's student (asri & meji included) and the yuppy kaneko's students. no choice we had to bring our baggage...to the astonishment of my sensei.

tulip second dose
|
|
much a do about tulip...while we wonder why people here are crazy about tulip, we joined them for a second dose of tulips. this time we drove to seranishi kyokuho farm, this farm changes its flower accordingly..now it's tulip, soon it will be lavender (shall make sure we come again to experience being in the purple lavender garden not to mention the georgous purple color) and in summer it will be sunflowers. the farm also open for strawberry picking (better to buy at yu-yu), ada ubi jepun dan macam-macam lagi untuk dipetik.
not much of a beautiful photography anyway, ...most photos turned out with muka gelap...dengan sinaran matahari tegak atas kepala.
later that day we had meji & family together with their 3 quests from malaysia, shukri & shai, wan, aisyah, kak lah & her children for dinner, a farewell to enny.

shibazakura
|
|
or ground sakura. our first time to a shibazakura garden in seranishi. bila berjalan melalui shibazakura, bau wanginya macam bunga melur...untuk menikmati keindahan shibazakura kita kena berada di atas barulah dapat melihat landscapingnya yang cantik. kalau nak lebih real bolehlah minum teh jepun yang dihidangkan oleh wanita berkimono dengan bayaran 100 yen dan duduk dipangkin panjang yang disediakan sambil melihat keindahan shibazakura. musim bunga yang warna-warni.
kami pulak sibuk mengejar anak-anak yang berlarian ke sana ke mari. we didn't even snap family photo...
